Glow Bio: Offering Glowing Health on Melrose Ave.

Kimberly Snyder, nutritionist and multiple New York Times best-selling author of the Beauty Detox book series and Radical Beauty, is sharing her health knowledge on Melrose Ave. According to Snyder, owner of the avenue’s Glow Bio, her shop offers properly-combined cold-pressed juices, bio-available smoothies, cleanses and foods that are all made with 100% organic, sprouted, pure, natural, plant-based ingredients. The goal? To balance your body from the inside out.

“The Glowing Green Smoothie is our most popular smoothie. It’s at the core of the Glow Bio Philosophy, loaded with greens, lemon juice and high-fiber fruit, and packs a mega-punch of vitamins, enzymes, minerals, and protein-building amino acids to optimize digestion and maximize nutrition,” Snyder says.

The smoothie contains over 13 grams of fiber per 16-ounce serving in a blend of greens, fresh fruits, and vitamin C-filled lemon, blended so consumers can easily digest and receive maximum nutrition. She recommends consuming the smoothie daily, as an essential foundation of a healthy diet.

Snyder feels that her philosophy is what makes her store stand out from other juice shops around Los Angeles.

“Our philosophy is based on a 3-step process to reset the body’s chemistry, including ingesting the best bio-nutrient ingredients available, digesting products that are the most bio-available for your body, and manifesting bio-power balancing from the inside out,” she notes.

Snyder believes that outer beauty is a reflection of inner health. She designs eating plans, recipes, and tips that work for everyone, whether they are vegan, vegetarian, pescetarian, or omnivore. A member of The American Association of Nutrition Professionals, and a member of The American Association of Nutrition Consultants, Snyder is based both in Los Angeles and New York.

Currently, Glow Bio’s tasty and healthy foods are offered mainly as smoothies, blended with their fiber intact, and juices, which are cold-pressed.

All of the Glow Bio products are 100% organic and combined for healthy digestion. Snyder attests that energy can be increased and decreased not only by foods consumed, but by the order in which they are eaten.

“It’s not just about throwing tasty ingredients together or simply that we are organic. It’s also that we are optimizing our ingredient combinations for optimal digestion and assimilation to help support you in looking and feeling your very best,” Snyder explains.

Glow Bio works with natural ingredients in their natural state, and uses only pure stevia and raw coconut nectar as sweeteners, because liquid agave is even higher in fructose than high fructose corn syrup, according to Snyder. The shop doesn’t use refined dairy products, oils, low-fat skim milk powders, or soy products, which are primarily GMO in the U.S.

Snyder decided to open a brick and mortar store on Melrose to make the recipes she was creating for celebrity clients available to the general public.

“I wanted everyone to have access to them. I wanted to create a healthy community space that gives back and supports the health and joy of everyone that walks into our shop,” she attests.

From bio-available smoothies, cold press juices, and boosters to cleanse programs, Snyder’s menu includes many locally sourced superfoods such as leafy green vegetables and lemons. Her products are high in antioxidant vitamins and probiotics. In fact, Snyder’s shop offers probiotic-enhanced cold-pressed juices.

Snyder’s motto is progress not perfection, and with that in mind, Glow Bio helps customers to make long term dietary changes over time, focusing on a well-balanced diet of whole, healthy plant foods – that also happen to be delicious.
